Hello, I saw the Galaxy S3 guide on replacing the front glass (not the lcd). The guide uses a heat gun to loosen the adhesive. Can this website's ifixit be used instead?

I would totally use a heat gun or a hair dryer as the adhesive holding the LCD to the Touch Screen in gonna need more heat than what can be generated from the iOpener.

To much heat can distort the plastic parts. Besides, the goal here is to soften the adhesion not liquify the glue as you don't want the adhesive to leave a mess. You still want one of the surfaces slightly cooler so the adhesive stays on that side.

Are you talking about the iOpener? If so it would also work.
