Would replacing the WiFi antenna fix my iPhone's terrible reception?

Backstory, my iPhone has always had very bad WiFi reception. It typically only connects to networks with three bars, occasionally two. Up until recently, I've been able to deal with this since I wasn't on my WiFi much anyway.

At any rate, I've recently decided I'd like to fix the issue. My phone is out of warranty unfortunately, so an Apple replacement is not the answer.

This part:

appears to be what could be causing my issue.

I've been fixing iPhone 4 and 4S for years so I'm relatively comfortable, I'm just not sure if it's worth attempting if it's unlikely to fix the problem anyway.

Has anyone tried this repair in order to fix chronic WiFI issues on an iPhone 5?

Answer this question I have this problem too

There are many factors affecting wifi performance, maybe it's not reception at all

try to use better routers, or set to a more advanced mode.

or get another iphone 5 to compare to make sure your device is actually faulty

remove all cases, bumpers to narrow down the cause
