boot problem wont finish

History

When I turn on the mac it goes to grey screen with a darker apple and a spiral. That is all it will do. I have no software for it. But I do have access on another computer.

Hook up via a firewire cable and boot holding the "t" key down. The hard drive icon should show up on the other computer. Then run Disk Utilities from the other computer, Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility.
