Cannot install Tiger 10.4 software.

I have install disks for my iBook G4 however when I attempt to load disk 1, I get a Panic CPU 0. Cannot find driver for Powerbook 6.5 platform. Also says that debugging is not configured and debugging info is being discarded, then hangs. Will not boot in safe mode.

Are you certain you're using the proper OEM grey disks?

by

It is the retail version of Tiger 10.4. Was told it should work on my iBook G4, 1.33 Model A1054. Yes, they are the grey disks.

Can you give us the last three digits of your S/N.

by

ROQ are the last 3 digits of the iBook G4 serial number.

Do you want to double check your numbers. I can't seem to find your system in the database. Here's the tool I use to verify what your system is see if you can get it to find your system EveryMac.

You may need to go though the custom selection menu to enable/disable some of the functions Tiger has when you use the Black labeled retail version (its been so long I don't remember what I had to do it get the OS to install on the iBooks).

Give Apple a call to see if they still sell the Grey disks or look for a set on eBay.

I have the grey disks. I cannot even get to the selection menu.

Could you have the wrong set of grey disks? Do you also have a Black labeled retail version of Tiger as well?
