RAM Upgrade - (1066 RAM) to (1333 RAM)

Hi, I have an iMac EMC 2374 with 4x 2gb 1066 RAM and just upgraded to 4x 4gb 1333 RAM. As far as i know this mac doesn't support higher MHz than 1066.... but with my new 16GB 1333MHz RAM it shows in the system 1333MHz...

My Question: Is it running with 1333MHz or does it just recognise the 1333 and running in the background with 1066?

Using higher speed RAM than it was design for is mostly over kill. You should be fine here.

Hi, thank you fo your answer. Does it mean, the system is running 1333MHz RAM? If YES: You should be fine here? Thanks

No, its just reporting what the RAM modules are from the little ID tag each one has. The Bus speed does not change upwardly because you have a faster module present
