Screwdriver doesn't fit screw described in Step 4 of guide

The Philips #00 screwdriver that I bought from iFixIt isn't fitting the 1.5mm screw described in step 4 of the power button replacement guide. When I attempt to use it on this screw it feels like it's going to strip the head (I can only imagine that to be a nightmare), so I'm wary of putting any force to it. It's hard to tell, but under magnification, it almost looks like the #00 is too small (?) for this screw.

Am I doing something wrong here, or do I just have the wrong screwdriver size?

All the screws are 00 unless some idiot has put a different screw in it

Well I've never opened this phone up before (no one else has either), so it must be 00. Any recommendations on how to get it out without messing up the screw head?
