Replacement and old battery both not charging

Hi all,

I recently replaced my iphones battery, and then tried to charge it.

The charging symbol doesnt come up and it just loses battery, I switched back to the old battery and that wouldnt charge either.

is it likely that the charging point is damaged, or is it the battery again? as this was the reason i changed in the first place.

I have tried different cables and it does not work with any of them.

I have tried connecting it to the computor with the old battery and it does not read it.

Any help?

I'm having this exact same problem....I've put both batteries in and taken them out a few times now and even tried messing with the charging port and can't get it to work...

Scott Punter, try to charge it with an AC adapter. Clean your dock connector with some ispopropyl alcohol and a few puffs of compressed air. You can use a small brush (soft) to try and clean the connector as well. If none of that works, you may have to disassemble your iPhone and check both the charging fuse as well as the battery fuse. Make sure that you have the right APN number battery an the you have a good battery. You may even consider getting another battery. There were issues with the battery APN number in the past. Hope this helps, good luck.

the computor does not read it, neither does the AC adaptor.

I've also cleaned both parts and it still has no effect.

should i replace the battery again or the dock connector or what?

I definitely would start with those two items. It is possible that it is something more sinister, but at least those parts would give you a known good starting point for any further trouble shooting.
