Will the A1496 batery fit in Mid 2011 MacBook Air?

From what I see the new batery (A1496) has the same dimensions but higher capacity and voltage (0,3V). Will it fit in an older MacBook Air? Could you perhaps try if it will work?

Thanks a lot.

I got a reply from iFixit:

We did test the newer battery in the older Macbook Air and it seemed to boot up and work just fine for the minute or 2 we tested it

So it seems it works just fine.

The A1496 battery will work in the following:

1.86 or 2.13 GHz (Late 2010) 13" MacBook Airs

1.7 or 1.8 GHz (Mid 2011) 13" MacBook Airs

1.8 or 2.0 GHz (Mid 2012) 13" MacBook Airs
