If you're looking for the absolute proper way to remove it then you can follow the disassembly & replacement guide to remove the superdrive, once it's out you can tilt it so that the opening is facing downward and shake a bit to drop the SD card.

With that said, I've always had great success with pre-cut strips of packing tape. I would pull a chunk of 5-6 off the stack, peel the cover off of the top piece to form a sticky side and then slide it into the slot. Usually pushing it back, working to the left & right just a bit and pulling out will pull the SD card with it. If you don't have pre-cut packing tape (important because it's rigid) you might improvise with a 6" strip of poster board (to form a handle) with tape wrapped around one end sticky side out.

Hopefully this works for you!

Not a bad idea! Another would be to part the felt dust covers out of the way to give it enough rom to fall out using a folded over iTunes card cut in half.
