Bulging battery problem, won't turn on

My iPhone battery started to bulge after it had been dropped and the screen cracked. The battery has been taken out and replaced and the screen replaced however to phone will not come on. I plugged it into the charger and It flashed on then went off and it will now not come on. Do you think it could just be a faulty battery or another problem?

Thank you

Rachel
