My phone has been damaged by alcohol?

ok so i decided to test out a rumor about bathing your smartphone in isopropyl alcohol beings my phone had a bunch of grit/dirt in it. it work just fine before the bath. now it turns on and it functions with 2 problem tho.1) it has dark blotches all over the display.2) it has trouble reading the sim card(as in it still reads the sim card just poorly) and ideas would be great.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Replace the logic board and display assembly. And never put your phone in a liquid, as it will seriously damage it.

" never put your phone in a liquid, as it will seriously damage it." not quite correct. It is perfectly okay to submerge and phone or electronic component in something like isopropyl alcohol or sterile water. The only thing with isopropyl alcohol is to use a concentration high enough i.e. 90%+ to clean the device. It will displace water and evaporate quickly. Submersion in any of these liquids does not contribute to failure. It also does not destroy plastics etc. It is really not a rumor to use this to clean your phone.
