My Touch Screen will not operate
My wife's touch screen will not work. It charges ok, and it turns on. we spilled some coffee on the iPod touch, but everyhthing else seems to work.

Then you need a new digitizer, you can look for them online, just google "iPod Touch 3rd gen digitizer" and you'll find many results. Unfortunately iFixit does not yet have a guide for this either, however if you use the teardown and follow guides for previous models you should be fine. If you manage to be able to create a guide yourself, please share it with us.
What capacity is it? And does the display work fine?

It is a 32 GB and the display works fine and very clear.
