Why is the 'Hold' button stuck on?
Weather the hold switch is on or off, it says on my iPod screen that its on and therefore wont respond to anything i do to control it. i'm EXTREMELY frustrated with this problem and any information on how to fix it would be much appreciated.

Hi Karla
the hold button can be replaced:
Installing iPod Classic Headphone Jack & Hold Switch
this site also sell parts:
iPod Classic (Thin) Headphone Jack & Hold Switch
But it's not an easy job to open the iPod, and there might be something else to do. Try searching the answers from the answers index page.
If you decide to replace this post might be helpfull:

i have checked on some website (basic googling on how to fix hold problems) a few weeks ago ..an it told me to open it up an there should be 3 round metal bits where the hold swith is an, if u solder them together then the ipod lock button should disappear and should stay open ...am currently on the process of opening the ipod(nano)...wi
I noticed you never got an answer to this. Are you still having this problem?
