substitute power button for tablet conversion

Is there a way that I can install a substitute power button on a mid 2012 MBA to convert my mac into a tablet? I'd like to set my machine up using only the battery and logic board with a touch screen that I just recieved if possible. The biggest issue I see so far is the power button.

I have seen that site, but I really don't have the funds to buy one of their products. If I could find a way to replicate the power button that would be best for my situation. Thanks for the suggestion though.

How are you planing to house your hardware? Maybe it would be cheaper just to getting an iPad instead. - This is not that easy a project and I don't think you'll be happy with the results. - Don't forget your current system will be ruined in the process (no resale value).
