Is replacing the screen reasonably feasible at home?

My display got badly scratched and I need to replace it. I have read the 17" display teardown and the screen is the last thing to come out. Can it be accessed without having to remove all the other parts?

mickmich, does not look like it. You will have to take it all apart just like the guide shows. I am not a Mac person, just a person who enjoys hardware from any manufacturer. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks for your answer. Since the display can't be used as it is, I'll give it a try anyway. The guide will be most helpful.

Hey ! It worked. I successfully replaced the screen on my 17"ADC display!

I followed the tear down guide (a million thanks for it) but I didn't remove any of the electronics. I just disconnected them from the screen. The hardest thing was reconnecting the ADC cable to the new screen because one of the connectors is not very accessible. I wished there was a way to make sure everything was well connected before closing up. Everything was. I am a happy man. Thanks again
