How do I turn my computer on? It keeps coming up to the choice of safe screen or normal start. When I choose any of the choices, it acts like it is booting up, but ends up at this screen again. The back right hinge has been loose for some time and may be a factor. I have turned it completely off and back on. Nothing seems to change it.

Delores, this sounds like a software issue. Go into your BIOS and change the boot order to CD. Start with a bootable CD like a LIVE-CD Linux and see if it lets you boot into your computer. You may have to reinstall your OS.
