Half screen is black, half is functioning. Broken LCD ribbon cable?

Tried to fix the Power/Sleep button on top of iPhone 4. I managed to get that solved but got extremely frustrated with trying to put one of the screws in...bent one of the stiff (wide) ribbon connectors in order to put the screw in. Reassembled the iPhone and half of the screen was black with some streaks of rainbow colors and a big black circle on the upper right side. The left was of the screen displayed as normal.

I opened the phone and went back in to test some of the connections. I removed Digitizer ribbon and everything was the same, so I believe it is the LCD ribbon that is messed up.

Is there any way for me to fix this (replacement of ribbon) aside from replacing the entire LCD/Digitizer Front Panel assembly?

Would this be the right cable for this? [linked product missing or disabled: IF182-015]
