Sound isn't working how do I diy fix it?

How do I fix my 6y son dsi lite, I just bought it off ebay for his bday and I thought it was working fine but when I received shipment I didn't checking the sound. Of course my son upon opening his "new" dsi lite quickly pointed out it doesn't work. Ebay seller is not responding to my request to exchange it. I can't afford another used DSI except if just for parts/repair, but I need to know this is something that can be fix diy as Nintendo wants $80 to repair or replace a product. I would appreciate any advice that can help this single mom out.

Hi, I hope u went through the guides on this website. There is a section specifically for this exact problem. Check it out. Open the dsi and see if any cables are missing, or if the whole module itself is missing. You can get replacement parts off ebay. I am providing a link in case u dont find the page.
