If DVI to HDMI is too expensive for you then DVI to VGA will work as well.

In that case, you can use an adapter such as this one to connect the DVI port from your mac to the HDMI port on your TV.

This type connector was available for some AGP and PCI video cards used in the G4 towers and Mac Pros.
