Dropped phone and replaced screen, now I lost all pictures?

I had converted my sisters iphone 4s to the mirror purple screen about a month ago and yesterday she had dropped the phone and the screen went blank. Phone was still powered on and she was freaking out because she needs her phone. I still had her original screen so I swapped that screen back on to her phone and it worked perfectly. I received a text first thing this morning and all of her photos are missing from her phone. All of her settings were the same as before including wallpaper. Could this had been caused by the fall or did I do something wrong? Also is there any way to retrieve the photos?
The repair should not have delete only the images. Check the last resotre in iTunes and check the backup. If it was done recently they should be on the computer used. If they have been deleted, there is no way to recover them from the phone.
