replaced dock connector because of sound issues. Now new problem.
I purchased here and replaced dock connector. Unfortunately it did not help my problem. Iphone still thinks it is docked and consequently emits no sound. Speaker works while making calls.
There is however additional problem. Before the repair I could play music when phone was docked, but now it doesn't play. The only way to listen to music is via headphones.
Is there anything else I should try?

I just escaped this issue, what i did was put it into the dock and bent the phone forwards, now my phone has been fixed, i really hope this solution works.

Thank you for the advise. Unfortunately it did not work.
I decided to revert to old water-damaged dock connector and it restored some functionality namely iphone play music while docked.
This leads me to believe that I purchased faulty part form ifixit. I will attempt to seek replacement.
