Review this: Fusion drive what is it?

You'll need to wait until Apple offers them as an option or a repair part. You have other options like adding a SSD as a second drive or putting in a hybrid drive like Seagate's Hybrid HD and from what I'm hearing a lot cheaper than a Fusion drive will cost.

It was expected Apple had a single device which had the two elements together as it turns out a fusion drive is nothing but two devices (HD & SSD) which are fused together as one logical volume via software. So you don't need any special Apple hardware to achieve the same function.

You can add an ssd as a second drive and configure an ssd and hdd as one fusion volume. I plan on doing this myself the instructions are here: http://jollyjinx.tumblr.com/post/3463849...

I have just done this myself and it seems to be working fine.

First of all, I created a bootable USB stick with OSX mountain lion on (and did a FULL backup)

Then I got the 2nd drive kit from here and used it to install a Kingston SSD now V 200+ 240gb

After which I followed the instructions from http://www.petralli.net/2012/10/analyzin...

Hope that this helps
