Completely dead after water damage. Salvageable?
My phone fell in water and stayed there for awhile. It turned off while still in the water.
I've torned it apart and dried everything and cleaned it with alcohol (logic board included). I find it weird that all the seals are still white.
Everything looks ok inside, except for the screen mount screws, which have some corrosion and the screen itself, which is stained inside of the glass from dried water.
All parts work because I've interchanged them with another iPhone 4. It just won't turn on, charge or get recognized by iTunes.

So the logic board has obvious problems, but I don't see anything wrong with it.
Filback, not knowing how you cleaned it, I recommend that you try it again. Use this guide to clean it. It was written for a 3G but all the points still apply. Use these guides to work on your phone. Once it is properly cleaned ,replace your battery and re-evaluate. Your "Windows says it is an unrecognized USB device. " sounds like a bad dock connector. You may want to change that as well.
