Error please remove disk and restart your console

History

When inserting disk console goes to black screen with the message there has been an error please remove the disk before restarting your console and refer to your user/ troubleshooting guide.

Your laser is dying and no longer reads discs. It will require replacement which is fairly easy. You can purchase the replacement DVD drive on Ebay for about $22 and do it yourself as long as you have a tri-wing screwdriver.

Could be the laser, could be the motor that rotats the disk. If you can hear the disk spin up to speed it is probably the laser. Both are fairly easy jobs, the guides on here are a big help.
