iPhone 4 does not ring or vibrate

My iPhone 4 was dropped a few months ago which cracked the digitizer. It also stopped ringing and vibrating at that time. I since installed a new digitizer but it still does not ring or vibrate. It receives calls but only if i am lucky enough to see the screen light up. I don't want to start installing new switches and whatnot until I can verify what the source of the problem is. How can I diagnose this problem? And yes, I reset, restored, etc...
