Hi there. I'm using my IPhone in Europe. While changing the homebutton, I broke two of the clips of the antenna. The consequence was that the signal was very weak.

So I ordered an antenna for GSM here at fixit and I replaced the installed and broken antenna with the new one. Now the carrier-signal is found perfectly and I can use the internet with EDGE. But 3G is gone? It's put "on" in the IPhone-Settings and I already tried the "network reset". Everything works fine only 3G is gone.

Has anyone already had this problem? I checked twice that I ordered the GSM antenna, not the CDMA one.

Best regards - Bruno

Problem solved. That was really funny. I opened the IPhone again (running) and removed the antenna-plug from the motherboard. Then the carrier-signal was gone. After this I reconnected the antenna cable and there was full 3G service. Strange. Conclusion: Make sure the antenna cable is deeply attached to the small round connecter on the mainboard. Otherweise it might have enough contact for EDGE, but not for 3G.
