Looking for DIY screen replacement video for the iPod Touch 3gen

History

I am trying to replace the glass screen on my iPod touch, and the only videos/tutorials I can find are for the 2Gen, and I have the 3rd Gen which is way different. The only thing I found on this website was a "teardown" method. I would appreciate any help!

Youtube has great videos for this repair. Just enter repair of (model of your iPod), and you'll get dozens of results.

Its very easy to do how many gigs is you 3rd gen?

its a 64GB, so I can't just use the videos I have found for the 2nd generation. I pretty much got the screen off and now I don't know what to do--or even if I have the correct parts!

Is it an 8gb? In which case it's exactly the same. Also, it's not too different between the 2nd and 3rd gens, it's mostly in the parts, not the actual layout/locations.

And also there is know "glass screen", there is the glass and there is the screen, two different parts.

You can probably follow iFixit's guides for the 2nd gen to repair your 3rd gen.

Its a 3g, 64Gb so following the other guides wont work. Also, after removing the screen (finally) from my iPod, now I don't think that the replacement screen that was sent to me is the right one, and I guess I am not sure exactly what I need. The whole screen was shattered, and it would not register touch anymore--but the LCD screen still works perfectly. Any ideas on exactly what I need?

Yeah, you don't need to replace the display in that case, probably just the glass.
