Hi guys,

Hoping for some help. The battery on my Macbook is acting up but there's some other strange symptoms too.

I was using it as normal this morning but as the battery was getting close to 50% so I decided to charge it up. The battery was at around 86% full when it stopped charging and the Macbook now says it needs replacing. I used coconut and the Macbook itself to get it's stats which put it at 176 cycles and a healthy 98% leaving me a little puzzled as to what's wrong. Oddly, the Macbook turns itself on when I plug it into the mains and now can't run without being plugged in. The 5 LEDs at the side and power light blink 5 times when I'm turning it on too. All signs point to a faulty battery but the stats I've found say otherwise. Any ideas? I've tried doing PRAM and SMC resets but have had no luck.
