Dropped my iPhone face down & there is now a spider crack?

I dropped my iPhone face down on concrete & now there is a huge spider web crack across LCD. Touchscreen parts all still work, however I was wondering what to buy to replace the screen?

Thank You!

UPDATE : iPhone 3G....8gb

I think it may just be the glass, because everything still works just fine.. its just covered in cracks..

Could you let us know which iPhone model you have? 1G , 2G, 3G, or 3Gs

What gen do you have? Also, are you sure the display is cracked? And not just the glass?

Since you said you have a 3G Here is the link to the parts:

http://www.ifixit.com/iPhone-Parts/iPhon...

and select your parts and order.

To replace it go to:

iPhone 3G Display Replacement

those are the instructions if it is a 3rd Generation. Give it a try. It really isn't too hard. Good luck

The poster has not specified which gen she has.

Hence the question before yours on the top asking for the info. So this way she gets a head start in seeing what is out there until she can let us all know which one she has. And if it is already covered she is good to go. It is her we are trying to help. RIGHT???

Follow the link to order the part, looks like around $54. Then go to the other link for the 3G teardown and replace the touch screen. If you need the suction cups to remove the screen look in the tools section in the parts area. Give it a try.

This is the wrong part mactech, the display is not cracked, just the glass, read the post.

So what you need to replace is just the front panel assembly, which includes the glass.

Even though this part that RAB777HP suggests may be twice as much as one mentioned above and include stuff you do not need, It is much easier to replace all together than the one I mention above especially if you are new at pulling things apart. Good option. +1

by

actually no, the part you suggested is the display, which has nothing to do with what the poster needs to replace.
