PS3 slim reads an audio cd, but not a dvd or game?

My old blu-ray drive was not ejecting disks so I replaced it with a new drive and swapped the board. Now the ps3 doesn't recognize any cd's, games, or blu-ray disks. I also tried swapping the board back temporarily to see if the old drive would atleast read the game still and no luck. Is it possible that my old drive has a faulty lens and that the new one arrived broken as well or is the culprit a different component I'm overlooking? Any ideas would be appreciated.
