How do I know if I have water damage?

My brand new macbook pro has been acting up and I was wondering how to check the water damage stickers to see if I may have gotten water damage somehow. My computer has been getting super hot when I'm using it, and I am ensuring that there is proper ventilation. Also, the batter won't last for more than three hours with the keyboard lights off, and the brightness all the way down? Does this sound like water damage? And is there any way I can check the water damage stickers myself? I would like to find out ASAP and am unable to get to a store.

I know that there are stickers but am unsure about how to find them or where they are. Am I able to check them myself?

If its brand new why dont you have it checked by Apple as it could still fall under the warranty.

Do you think you got the system wet? Or thinking it was damaged before you got it? I would go back to the store you bought the system and get a replacement if you didn't get it wet (as Curts recommends) If you did get it wet I hope you didn't get it too wet.
