How to shut down the device not restart
hi,
I replaced broken panel with a new part. But the new part was a faulty part! Lcd shows nothing and of course touch panel does not work. I want to replace it with another new part but here is the problem. I don't know how to shutdown (not restart) before I open the back case. Could anyone please tell me precisely how to shutdown iphone by combo pressing sleep or home button in a correct manner.

You can just open the back case and when you dissconnect the battery connector the iPhone will be OFF. Or you can trust the vibrate switch that it is OFF or you can use iTunes on computer so you can make sure it is OFF. However you want, hold both Home and Power buttons for about 3 - 4 seconds (immediately let go) and the iPhone will turn OFF. If vibrate switch no longer vibrates it is OFF. If it was connected to iTunes before, it will no longer be connected to iTunes.
