Accidentally broke off the one of the digitizer flex contacts tabs

History

Accidentally broke off one of the digitizer flex contacts black flip up tabs that holds the digitizers flex cable down, and now half of the digitizer/screen response is a dead spot how can I fix that little black tab that holds down the digitizer flex cable? I really hope I don't have to replace the whole logic board just because of one small tab. I tried looking for answers and couldn't' find anything and tried looking for maybe replacement parts or a replacement logic board but it seems like no one sells new 16GB iPad 2 Wifi logic board. It would be greatly appreciated if I could get some help.

I had that happen before. Usually pretty bad sign, I am not aware of a replacement part. The only advice I can give you (besides ask someone who has more experience with this specific problem) is to seat it very carefully and not more it when closing, maybe try some tape or adhesive (not liquid, it will likely get between the contacts). Hope this helps

I did the same thing. Ended up sending my board to http://www.servdigital.com/. They replaced both connectors and it works great. Fast service. I had a 64gb ipad so the cost was worth it.
