iPhone 3G lcd screen burned up after digitizer change. What happened?

History

Hey everybody i got a little problems here with my iphone lcd screen. And im hoping that some of you could help me with this...

Before i changed digitizer to my iPhone, my lcd screen was working well. Now after digitizer change i noticed black burns in the lcd screen. When i start up the phone over half of the screen has black burns and colourful stripes and in the other side i can barely see some graphics but in negative colour. The questions are:

What did i do wrong to cause this to the lcd screen?

and

Can this be fixed with a new lcd screen?

The screen looks like this (sorry for the crappy quality):

Thank you alot!

Maybe you have endommaged the LCD flex cable when you replace it on the middle bezel assembly.

Thanks for your quick answer. Umm but you mean i damaged the flex cable? Are you sure that its not just the lcd whats broken? By the way there might be a chance that i accidently connected the wires to the lcd screen while the power was on. Not really good for the lcd right?

Judging by the look of the screen the first thing I would replace would be the LCD. If that doesn't work you may have fried the mainboard but I doubt it will come to that.

Thanks for your answer Peter! Yeah i just ordered new lcd screen and going to change it soon. Lets see what will happen. I hope the problem is not the mainboard...

you should use the iPhone 3G lcd screen which is pre-assembled like this iPhone 3GS Replacement LCD Assembly I replace it with my iPhone 3G, no any problem..........

Thanks for the suggestion! but i already ordered a new lcd screen. Im gonna see whats going to happen. But good suggestion not an expensive price at all. Maybe i will order that if the lcd change doesnt help.

Oh,sorry to see this problem!

I think your LCD display was damaged. You had better to change a new iPhone 3G lcd.Original LCD is better.

By the way,now iPhone 4 is more prevalent, why not buy a iPhone 4 or 4S.iPhone 3G is old now.

Anyway, hope you could get your new iPhone 3G ASAP.Good luck!
