water damaged, phone will not turn on
Hello
I need help with my iphone 4 please,my son dropped it on the bath and surprise surprise the phone stops working.... When I connect to the power source and PC nothing happens, and the PC does not recognize or detect any phone connected.
I know that a mother board, camera and lower antenna/speaker are working fine I have tried this parts in a spare iphone 4 that I have.
Any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance for any help :)

cesar, Disassemble the phone using this guide. Clean the iPhone using this guide. It was written for a 3G but it is the same procedure for your phone. This will also give you a chance to inspect the stuck buttons. The cleaning might even free those up. It is important to clean it properly so as to avoid any corrosion damage that potential will put an end to the phone. Once it is cleaned, replace the battery. Re-evaluate and see what damage, if any, you really have.

The resources on this website are fantastic.
We actually take it a step further and ultrasonically clean the motherboard in specifically-developed cleaning solution made for mobo cleanings. We then go in and clean each of the connectors. You will want to disassemble everything and clean with Di-ionized water so that you have no surface residuals. after we clean the components with DI water we put them in a desiccant called molecular sieve which offers the highest adsorption rate so that everything dries quickly. Definitely replace the battery. We have a very high success rate as we get a ton of water damaged iPhones in our shop here, being in South Florida and a few miles from the beach. Good luck.
