Vibrate selector switch doesnt work?

History

I've dropped my unit a number of times but never any water damage. It vibrates correctly and plays audio from games, video etc but does not audibly ring (all menu 'Settings' are correct) , which leads me to believe the selector switch is malfunctioning/broken. If the screws from the selector switch jiggled loose at all would that cause it to not function properly?

I just don't want to spend the time to completely tear down my phone for the first time for absolutely no reason.

You need to hard reset it in itunes
