Digitizer unresponsive after replacing sleep/wake, volume ribbon cable
I replaced the sleep/wake, volume control ribbon cable and when I reassembled the iPod everything works except the digitizer. I have tried 2 new screen assemblies and still can not get it to work. I have tried the hard reset and restore to factory settings several times. I keep seeing people posting about one of the screws grounding the mainboard. Can you help explain the grounding to me and if that would cause the digitizer to not respond to touch.

I just had the same problem (also after repairing the sleep/wake button). Where did you find the explanation about grounding?
I haven't found an explanation yet. I'm hoping ifixit can help me. I found somewhat of an explanation in one of the answers on ifixit here http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/89943... But the authors English is hard to understand so I am still stuck. I'm not sure if the cable guy is talking about is the negative battery cable or what. If you find a solution please post. Thank You
