Notification Led (Trackball) turned on Green, like forever!

After a little accidente where my N1 got drowned in some Lemon Gatorade for a while on my girlfriend's beach bag, the phone stood ok, but... the Notification Led located in the trackball turned Green ever since. I've allready removed battery, wiped memory (factory reset), reinstalled ROM (latest MIUI version, pt-PT), and nothing happens.
Seems like a hardware problem/alert of some sort.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
