How can I fix the rrod on my xbox console?

History

This question is archived. No new answers are allowed, and only the question's owner may edit it.

My xbox recently got the rrod.

Most possible cause:

I took it apart and attempted to transfer my save data to my new xbox 360 s console with success until my pc didnt recognize the hd as an external drive.

In other words, i removed the hard drive and plugged it into my pc. The pc didnt recognize it so i put the hard drive back into the console.

I put it back together and got the rrod for the first time.

It didnt overheat, because in all the years ive had it, it has never overheated or been in a situation where that could be a possibility.

I appreciate any offered HELP.

Thank You.

Which Xbox are we talking about?

oldturkey03,

The ORIGINAL XBOX console. Nobody better start going 360 this 360 that cuz that one works fine. That happened to me in another forum so thats why i sound a little agitated. But thanks for helping me clarify.

Karston,

Which lights are flashing and what sequence? Your agitation and open hostility are not going to be conducive to getting any answers:) We try to play nice and professional on here.

oldturkey03,

Youre right. My bad. The console starts up fine until it tries to loa a game. Then only red flashes every half second or so. This was caused by hard drive removal. I know that for sure. Is there any way to fix it without buying a new one?

Karston,
