Fan plug-in(socket) pulled off circuit board.

History

Following ylod repair guide and during the fan removal process, while unplugging the fan 3-wire power cord, the surface mounted plug pulled off the mother board. How do I re-attach?

Can it be done with the heat gun provided in ylod kit?

The larger solder pads on the side are they just for anchoring down the socket or are they part of the circuit also?

Also during re-installation do you recommend a dielectric grease on some of these connectors?

Still need to know about those little prongs holding the socket. My ps3 memory card reader ! Is that what's stopping mine from Powering up???? My red light is on but no action whatsoever. Light is on but no ones home!

Soldering it back on is possible. Heatgunning it will make the plastic socket melt or even possibly make it catch fire.

Ramin Azizi, most of the soldering of SMD components is actually done by using a hot air station. The 'proper' way to do this would actually be with solder paste and hot air. Your answer is a little misleading.
