Replaced battery but the new one doesn't take charge?

History

I replaced the dead battery but the new battery doesn't charge at all. The battery simbol is showing almost dead battery. I tried different cables as well. Also, after the battery replacement the click wheel is not working either. I was super careful not to damage any cables, so why is it happening?

The apple simbol comes on, i see the categories like music, video, etc on the screen. then it's goes dark and I can't switch categories or turn on music or anything else. Computer recognazes the i-pod and everything on it, i can eject it but still no charge. what did i do wrong?

Well, I took it apart again and redid the battery. It's charging now, but i think the click-wheel cable is damaged since it's not responding at all. Ordered a replacement

Well thanks anyway. I guess i've answered my own question. Your tutorial is great. i found it the most helpful after watching alot of different ones.

I replaced the click wheel as well. it works great once again. Thanks for the tutorial videos
