blu ray drive not reading discs
Took ps3 model cech-a01 apart to reflow the chips. Put it back together and when I got to reattaching the blu ray drive I notice some black debris on the ribbon going into ps3 motherboard. It was the black tab that secures the ribbon into the motherboard. Tried taping it on but holding it securely in place seemed to be the only thing to make the blue light blink. Still wasn't fully reading the disc, but ill investigate that after the more pertinent issue is resolved. Can I buy one of those black tabs and is it easy to install without breaking it?

You can use a bit of cardboard to work as a brace for the ribbon cable. You can also try using a bit of hot melt glue. I have seen tons of systems come in where someone tried a home fix only to break off the tab. You can't replace the tab unfortuantely unless you are very good at soldering. :) Let me know how it goes.
