Where and how to install home button when no retainer?

History

Block Image

Two things:

#1 So my home button doesn't work. After looking inside, the retainer that houses the home button ribbon cable isn't there (please see uploaded pictures - resolution slightly fuzzed). What are my options.. how do I affix the end of the cable to its contact point without the retainer? Is there some adhesive or creative solution to pin it down.

#2 I ordered a new digitizer/lcd display assembly, battery, among other things. After installing each part, the iOS won't boot. I don't get the silver apple logo when pressing the sleep/power button - just a black screen with backlight for a few seconds. When I plug the phone via usb it's able to sync and communicate with iTunes. Very frustrating. Your thoughts on solutions much appreciated.

Thanks!

If a retainer is missing you have to replace it which means you need to install new charging dock.

About your screen, two things might happened.

1. You damaged the LCD or it came damaged.

2. You damaged the board. Next to LCD connector there is a bunch of small resistors. You get a blank screen if you damage one of those resistors.

1 options is easily solved with new screen. Option 2 is a little bit more complicated.

Hope this helps.
