How to remove the screws inside the MacBook Unibody Model A1278?
Discussion Topic
I was following the guide (Installing MacBook Unibody Model A1278 Fan) and am using the PH00 screwdriver bit but for some reason the screws just will not turn and I ended up almost (if not actually) stripping one of the screws trying to remove the screws around the fan. Are the screws glued in? There are several other screws that are the same size that remove just fine but some that won't budge?

Many of the screws have a LockTite adhesive applied to them (it's blue)... sometimes a screw will miss being completely annealed, making it's head soft. The tags to the right offer some possible solutions... getting shavings on a logic board can be a real problem causing shorts later-snipping the head to remove the fan, even destroying the fan so that you can get a pliers on the shank of the screw would be better than drilling or grinding IMHO.
Good Luck,
