Slider doesn't open lens

Hi folks...great site! The slider on my 410 was getting "crunchy" when it slid back and forth. I took the slider off, cleaned it up a bit (there was some sand and grit in there), and put it back. Of course, after I put it back on, now the lens doesn't come out anymore. After some tinkering, I followed the instructions to take apart the camera.

I see on the front cover of the camera, when you move the slider to the side, it moves this little black piece on the inside of the front cover. That piece must move some piece of the camera to trigger the lens to open. That's what I can't figure out. What does that little black lever touch that triggers the lens to open?

If you look at the picture I linked to below from the guide, you'll see the blue box that was drawn around the flash. To the right of that is a little black "track". To the right of that is a little white rectangle with a little black piece (tab) on it. That little black tab is missing on mine, but I'm not sure if that matters. Are one of these the part that activates the lens?

Ay caramba...any ideas/help would be great!

Thanks!
