iPhone will not power up

I have an iPhone 3 that I am fixing for a friend, she dropped it into the laundry about a week or so ago. I purchased a new battery and all the products needed to clean the logic board and connectors. After extensive cleaning, and drying I swapped out the new battery and put everything back together. I let the phone charge for an hour or so before I tried turning it on. When I did I immediately saw the apple on the middle of the screen. But it never powered up. I haven't tried a force restore yet, but I don't think that it needs one. Im thinking it is possibly left over corrosion on one of the connectors. Does anyone else have any ideas or thoughts? Thank you.

It depends how well you cleaned it. Check the dock connector for corrosion as well, make sure the pins are not bend or broken. Check on here http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing-iP... on our recommendation on how to clean it. Hope this helps, good luck.
