Can only be heard if the speaker is on

History

people can only hear me if my speaker is turned on. i only got the phone replaced with apple store 4 month ago and apple say its past the warranty of the original purchase. great so they give me a duff phone that only comes with a 90 day extension of my warranty

Replace the dock connector/ mic assembly. check that the bottom speaker mesh on right side of phone is clear of debris.

could very well be hardware, but some software bugs exist, too.
