Xbox 360: Do I reinstall the x-clamps after using the RROD Repair Kit?

Step 45 on Page 15 of the Red Ring of Death repair kit guide instructs me on how to reinstall the x-clamps on the Xbox 360, however it is not pictured later in the tutorial. I'm hoping that is because the reinstallation of the x-clamps are not required, but I fear that it is more likely due to making it easier to show readers certain important details in the tutorial. I have noticed that several of the screws do not go in properly and I stopped reassembling my Xbox for fear of damaging the motherboard, but I would love to be able to assemble it!

Xbox 360: Is there any way to reuse the xclamps

I have seen several other guides for xbox mods where the xclamps are put back in-this is before RROD appears-basically they are trying to prevent RROD. so the question is.... do the guides recommend washers and bolts because the xclamp is useless or because they found another way of doing the same job?

I repaired my xbox with an online set of bolts, but have now been given a friends to repair and am wondering if we can get away with just redoing the thermal paste and reapplying the xclamps.

Xbox 360: The RROD X-Clamp fix did not work, why?

MY friends Xbox 360 had the dreaded RROD recently and since I fixed a few prior I figured no sweat, but unfortunately this one was not fixed. (Actually, my luck with fixing Xbox's is at a current 2-2. Two worked and two didn't.)

Im now left wondering why this time the Xbox didn't work. I used the "X-Clamp" fix where you replace the X-Clamps with 5mm machine screws and applied new thermal paste (even using the thermal paste remover and purifier.) I feel that im doing everything right, am I missing a step? I'd love some help or pointers!

Thanks in advance.
