iBook: A1133 Logic boards interchangeable even if different LCDs?

I understand that the A1133 12" iBooks use either Chimei or LG-Phillips LCDs, and that you can't replace one LCD with the other. Unless you swap their cables first. Am I right?

More importantly, are the logic boards identical on all A1133's, whichever LCD type they use? Thanks for any help, guys.

iPhone 3GS: Can I swap my logic board and SIM into a new handset?

I recently toasted my iPhone 3GS, the silent switch needs replacing and I can only hear a phone conversation when in speaker phone.
Maby it can be fixed if I resolder a new connector.... But if this is not gonna work is it possible to swap the logic board with a i3 or i5 logic board and put the i7 CPU in that i3 or i5 board?

Does the iMac 27" (2009-2010) i3, i5 and i7 all use the same logic board?

MacBook Pro 17" Unibody: Late 2011 logic board, does it fit in a early 2011 MBP?

Hello,

the logic board of my early 2011 Macbook Pro is broken.

Failure in the electric circuit beneath the graphic processor.

Apple and the local Apple Partner told me they can`t fix it.

They have to exchange the logic board.

They would charge me the Price of a new 13" MBP.

So I will exchange it myself. (Did it before with other Macbooks)

When I compare the late 2011 model logic board (photo) with mine, I can´t find any differences.

I found a late 2011 17" logic board here in Germany, there are no early 2011 logic boards on the free market at the moment.

Will it fit in and more important, will the system work properly ?

The technical specifications, apart from a discrete improved graphic card and processor speed enhancements, should be more or less the same.

Greetings

Jan

MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2009: Logic board replacement (swap in a mid-2010, 2.66)

Checked this thread first: http://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/29333...

It did not seem very helpful, in that there is no clear answer there.

From what i can gather, a mid-2010 MacBook Pro 13" 2.66 GHz Logic Board will directly replace my current board. Chipset locations, mounting holes (through the PCB), and ports are all identical and there should be no issues mounting to my mid-2009 case.

Question:

1- Do the refurb'd boards sold here by ifixit come with the serial numbers wiped, so that I can restore my current serial number to the new board (makes integration to the iCloud and iTunes store vastly simpler)?

2- What kind of software issues will I need to be prepared to mitigate? (Note: my current MBP now a bit older, is a 3rd generation image that started on an Intel MacBook in 2006, transferred via HD swap to a newer MacBook in 2008, and then finally migrated, again via a HD swap to the current machine. Along the way I have upgraded the OS from 10.5, to 10.6, yadda, yadda, yadda....and copied the image to bigger HDs for swap in as well. I do not fear software issues, just want to know what to expect.)

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 17" Unibody: Can I replace the logic board with another model's logic board?

Hi there, I've got a macbook pro unibody 17 late 2011, and it's got a problem with its logic board.

when i try to turn it on, it beeps three times but a worker of third party repair shop told me that it's not a problem of ram but it's a problem of its logic board and required me about 700 GBP. However, as long as i am a student, i could not pay for it.

So, i was looking for some new/used logic board but it was really hard to find a logic board which fits on my laptop. but could find bunch of Early 2011's logic boards.

I want to ask if i can replace the logic board to 2011 early one or not.

thanks.

MacBook Pro 17" Models A1151 A1212 A1229 and A1261: Will A1239 Logic Board fit A1212 system?

Hi,

I've recently bought an A1212 Macbook Pro and later noticed the logic board was broken (probably liquid damaged).

So now I'm looking for logic boards to use as a replacement so I can actually use the computer.

Someone has offered me a A1229 logic board but I have no idea if this will be compatible with all the other A1212 components, leave alone fit in it.

Please help :)

MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Early 2011: Upgrade logic board on late 2011 MacBook Pro

I have a 13" Macbook Pro (early 2011) with what I suspect is a busted logic board. If I change it, would I have to chose the exact same board or could I use the opportunity to upgrade the prosessor as well? Also how is the early 2011, late 2011 and mid 2012 compatablity regarding logic boards? Thanks!
