MacBook Core 2 Duo: bad/no wifi signal on my MacBook

I am having terrible signal with my MacBook....

Its become unusable. I only get signal when my mac is next to the router. or within very very close range, it cuts out when im more than a meter away. I have a large antenna on my router, my pc is able to get full signal upstairs and my iPhone gets full signal when on the third level. Just wondering what i can do to resolve this issue?

I have a d-link wireless router... I notice i get a small improvement in signal strength when i have the laptop open at a 95 degree angle...

Hmm maybe my airport extreme card is on its way out? or the antenna in the lcd assembly is broken... orrrr maybe i need a airport base.. my router is old now, from 2005...

iPhone 4: Wi-Fi antenna. Signal problems.

Two months ago I started to notice that mi iPhone 4 doesn't recognize all wi-fi networks available in one area. I asked a friend to bring his iPod touch once, and inside a shopping, his ipod showed 6 wi fi networks (my iphone none). My home wi fi network appears only when I'm ridiculously close to the modem.

I'm strarting to get really annoyed, I called MacStation Argentina (kind of a official distribuitor here) and they told me that even if my international warranty hasn't expired, they provide technical service for all products except (guess....) iPhones.

I tried restoring it from iTunes, restoring network setting (or something like that), and I am still having the same problems.

("Ask to join networks" is on...)

I'm qute handy, and I think I can repair it on my own (if I know WHAT to do). Some guy in an unofficial center for these kind of repairments, told me it would cost me 170 dolars. Its absurd...

I found an answer, something about Clem 1 and 2, but the link is broken...

I appreciate ANY help, thanks a lot,

iPhone 4: Wifi and Signal Strength reception issue

Hi All,

I search everywhere and couldn't find the answer to this.

I did an iPhone conversion to White and everything went smoothly, except that now my WiFi Signal is not full strength nor is the signal.

For the signal I am dropping a bar when it should be full strength and the same goes for the WiFi.

I can have full strength and right away drops in both 1 bar.

When I did the conversion I broke the 5 fingers at the bottom. I am about to replace the speaker and I was wondering if that could be the culprit or should I look on the top plate?

Please help me!

iPhone 4: Antenna Loss After Screen Change

I don't understand what I am doing wrong. I followed the guide to replace the screen on 2 phones, and both phones have signal loss.

I didn't wear gloves (I will next time). I cleaned out all the connectors with Windex and changed all the screws. My device seems to be put back together properly.

iPhone 4: Signal drop and keeps losing service "No Service"

I'm facing this signal problem similar to other users. It turns to "searching..." for reception and becomes "No Service" quite often under normal usage. It does re-gain full bar signal when the 3G mode is switched on, and then subsequently repeat the routine. If the 3G mode is switched off, when signal drops to "Searching..." and "No Service" status, the signal will not come back again at all, which means I have to switch the 3G back on in order to get the reception! I have asked other users on apple.com and I first thought there must something to do with the firmware version. It appears no improvement at all even after I updated the firmware version to 4.3.5 (since 4.3.4 was speculated having the key contribute to the signal problems). I'm confused whether it is firmware related problem or hardware faulty? HELP, PLS!

iPod Touch 4th Generation: After replacing Front Panel - weak Wifi Signal strength?

Hi,

I successfully replaced the Front Panel (with some drawbacks, I broke the Volume/Power Flex Cable while disassembling the iPod) but now the Wifi Signal strength seems lower than before, especially when my hand is in the near of the upper left corner where the antenna is located.

The Wifi Antenna is still connected to the logic board (I guess, as I would'nt have any signal if it was disconnected?).

I don't remember if there was any connection between the Wifi Antenna and the iPod Steelcase for better connectivity.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

iPhone 4: iPhone 4 signal range not strong enough?!

Hi there,

I've been trying to look for an answer on this forum and anywhere else on the internet but haven't found a solution yet.

It seems like my iPhone doesn't receive/send signal strong and fast enough. Let me elaborate on that:

In my apartment I have almost full signal but when i travel through the city there are certain areas where I don't have signal: NO SERVICE. Whereas on my old iPhone 3gs, i would have poor signal such as 1-2 bars but that's better than nothing right?

I'm pretty sure my iPhone 4 has a hardware problem but i can't figure out why.

I've tried to hard restore etc. I've replaced the antenna by following the guide here on ifixit. It actually help on the signal bar but not movement wise. Could it be the rear panel?

Unfortunately the warranty is expired :(

Have you stumbled upon this issue?

Please let me know. I could use your help!!!

Hello.

As i read on past post, my iphone signal is very poor (1 or 2 point inside house, no signal outside). The famous "Blue Inductor" has dissapeared, then i have a beautifull ipod touch.

Anyone know if this can be fixed and where I could send it without buying a new board? I'm from Spain.

Thank you so much.

Update

Hello, few days ago tried to bridging both sides joined by the inductor with a screwdriver and signal returns perfectly, the problem is that i dont know how to soldering this two parts?

May i use only a drop of tin or i must use a wire with tin on both sides?

iPhone 4: Very poor signal after getting my iPhone 4 wet

Hello. After taking my iPhone to a festival it got pretty wet. I was almost sure it had had it, however when i got home and charged it, to my surprise it works! However, it thought there were headphones attached when there wasn't, the WiFi signal was almost none existent and the cellular signal was just as bad.

After taking the back cover off and running a hairdryer inside for a bit, i managed to fix all of the problems but the cellular signal. Could there still be moister or corrosion somewhere causing this, or is the antenna (or whatever) beyond repair now?

Really i'm just looking for advice as to what to do next. I'm more than capable of replacing internal parts, and if soldering is required i have no problems with that. Even stupidly small surface mount stuff.

Any advice is much appreciated!

Cheers,

I checked the blue coil on the bottom. Everything was fine.

I cleaned all the parts and used gloves to makes sure there wouldn't be any oil.
